My Approach

In today’s world many of us are over tired, overworked, and overstressed. The demands of daily life are more than they have ever been, and my approach is to help you to take time out with my Pilates reformer sessions and start to focus on and tune in to your own body. This is the centre from which you can discover your individual physical requirements and then move on to tone, mobilise, stretch and and strengthen.

With over 15 years of experience as a movement professional, I have helped numerous people with many different problems and remain fascinated & impressed by how taking control of your own body with Pilates can bring about positive changes.

My approach is to help you learn to move with full-body awareness, with your mind and body connected. When you are mentally attuned to how you are feeling, and physically and mentally engaged with how each Pilates movement feels, it can benefit both your body and mind in profound ways.

Not only does reformer Pilates tone, strengthen and stretch your body, it also involves so much more. Based on the messages your own body is giving you (whether it be pain, fatigue, tightness or otherwise), it will help to improve your energy levels, calm your mind, and become the best physical version of yourself that you can be, whatever your individual requirements and circumstances.

Please get in touch to arrange a free assessment of your own individual requirements, where I can take you through reformer session based on your body. We will discuss what you hope to achieve and change,

so we decide how we start your Pilates journey.

My Story

Following my own back injury, I became heavily involved with Pilates, and after 11 years of attending Pilates reformer sessions myself, I decided to train and set up my own studio so that I could help others transform their lives with Pilates.

I initially qualified with the PhysicalMind Institute NY (the Method Pilates) in 2009 as an Instructor in Mat and Standing Pilates and in Studio Equipment (Reformer, Ladder Barrel, Cadillac and Chair). In 2014 I also qualified with Body Control Pilates in Matwork. I have undertaken many courses and qualifications since:

  • PhysicalMind: Re-certification in Pilates Mat and  Apparatus Dec 2022

  • PhysicalMind: Muscular/Skeletal issues Aug 2018

  • PhysicalMind: Pilates & Osteoporosis July 2017

  • PhysicalMind: Pilates & Homeostasis June 2016

  • Body Control: Reformer Workshops 2015

  • Body Control: Understanding Medical Conditions Workshop 2015

  • Register of Exercise Professionals

  • Body Control: Reformer Bridging Course 2014

  • Body Control: Pilates with the Band 2013

  • Stott: Postural Analysis assessment 2013

  • British Red Cross Certificate of First Aid 2013

Why Reformer Pilates?

It was Reformer Pilates that enabled me to heal from my back injury and strengthen long term, and I am convinced daily by the results I see amongst my my clients that it is one of the most effective forms of exercise available:

The reformer is a remarkably effective and adaptable form of exercise which offers a vast range of exercises and gives quick results. I will adapt your sessions to suit your requirements, whether it be injury recovery or rehab, or impact free cardio and strength work.

The reformer also allows for targeting of specific muscle groups for more intense work, including the core abdominal muscles, and simultaneously supports the back and joints. It is ideal for people with knee, hip, back, neck and shoulder problems or pain.
